Free Online Poker

Free Online Poker Sites
Most poker houses based in countries around the world charge an entry fee or they rake from each game to make a profit. However, these same online poker houses often offer tables where novice players and others can play without using their own money. The free online poker usually falls into two categories.
Online Poker Schools – In late 2006, a law went into effect that blocked internet bets in a location where betting would normally be illegal. This caused a terrific riff in the United States-based world of online poker, so many of the websites that had formerly been paying poker houses converted to poker schools where players can learn and practice their skills without monetary loss or gain. The larger companies continue to operate paying poker houses in locations were gambling is legal and regulated, so many who begin in the online poker schools make the transition to the paid poker games once they feel more comfortable with the game.
Freeroll Poker Games – In major online poker houses, there are incentives to players in the form of freeroll poker games. Freeroll games allow players to enter a game without paying the entry fee that is normally required. The freeroll games have no entry fee, but might have additional costs as you play and decide to bet on your hands. Many transition from the freeroll games to a low stakes game where you can place bets as low as a penny or two at the paying table.
Learning Online Poker
Online poker varies from the brick and mortar games played in casinos. While the rules are the same regardless of where the game is played, there are many other aspects that change when you take the game out of the casino and into the online poker room.
- Games move faster. In a casino, it takes time to count chips, collect cards and deal. Usually a casino will play around forty games per hour. But online, you can play as many as ninety or one hundred games every hour as there is no time needed for shuffling and dealing or counting chips.
- You can play multiple games. When you play poker in a casino, you select a table and stay there. In an online poker room, you can play multiple tables at a time. To do this, you’ll have multiple tables and hands visible in your screen at once. Playing multiple tables is a common strategy for increasing your overall earnings.
- You can’t see your opponents. Sitting down across from your opponents lets you see their faces and any expression changes or tics. Online you don’t have the benefits of facial expressions, but there are other ways to gain information about your opponents and how they operate.
